Missing pin or other part between slave cylinder and clutch arm.
Clutch pedal goes to floor won t return.
I m driving along and my clutch is just fine i press down to shift gears and it just goes to the floor and stays.
On a manual or stick shift car the clutch is what allows you to change gear.
The cable and the hydraulic link provide the auto return so that after you press the pedal it comes back to its proper position and the clutch re engages.
Push down on the clutch pedal and see if will return.
On another site someone said check if clutch master cylinder or slave cylinder is bad.
If the pedal stays on the floor then the slave cylinder may have an internal leak if there is no external leakage.
A clutch pedal is made for the driver to release the clutch and engage the clutch.
It won t come out of gear so i just brake.
The master or slave cylinder can fail due to an internal or external seal leak.
Clutch pedals that go from the rest position to full engagement but stay on the floor and don t spring back up.
Grab a pry bar and push the slave cylinder pin back into its rest position the clutch pedal should return to its rest position as well.
It is connected to a pedal on the floor by either a cable or a hydraulic link.
